Objetiva mapear a produção de artigos de periódicos e trabalhos publicados em anais de eventos brasileiros em língua portuguesa sobre informação jurídica nas áreas da Ciência da Informação e Biblioteconomia. Na fundamentação teórica aborda sobre o conceito e a origem da informação jurídica, assim como trata sobre a comunicação científica. Caracteriza-se como pesquisa documental de natureza exploratória, descritiva e quali-quantitativa. Realiza a análise quantitativa das publicações por meio da qual obtêm dados referentes ao tipo de publicação, número e ano; tipo de autoria, gênero, vínculo institucional, única ou múltipla, e autores mais citados. Também realiza análise qualitativa do conteúdo referente às abordagens temáticas recuperadas. Adota como fonte de constituição do corpus da pesquisa a Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI), o Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) e os Anais de Evento do Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (ENANCIB). Na estratégia de busca utiliza o termo “informação jurídica”. Os resultados obtidos possibilitaram identificar que: a) as publicações são mais frequentes em artigos de periódicos do que em trabalhos publicados em anais de eventos; b) a revista Ciência da Informação é o periódico que mais se destacou em número de publicações; c) 2012 foi o ano que mais obteve publicações sobre o tema informação jurídica; d) houve predomínio de autoria do sexo feminino, sendo 18 autoras e cinco autores; e) a UNESP e a UFPB concentram a maior parte dos autores; f) a autoria múltipla é maior do que a única; g) os autores mais citados são: José Augusto Chaves Guimarães e Edilenice Passos. Quanto à análise qualitativa, as categorias temáticas encontradas na análise das publicações foram: 1) Indexação, Recuperação e Organização da Informação Jurídica na Web; 2) Biblioteca Jurídica; 3) Acesso e Disseminação da Informação Jurídica; 4) Usuário da Informação Jurídica; 5) Tipos de Informação Jurídica; 6) Política de Desenvolvimento de Coleções; 7) Controle da Informação Jurídica; 8) Profissional da Informação Jurídica. Conclui-se que, apesar da quantidade restrita do corpus, este é bastante diversificado em relação as suas temáticas, o que reflete a riqueza de questões sobre as quais a informação jurídica pode suscitar.This Research deals with the published literature on legal information in the areas of Information Science and Library Science. It has the aim of mapping the scientific production published in Brazilian journals and conference proceedings and written in Portuguese. The concepts related to the origin of legal information as well as to scientific communication are addressed in the theoretical foundation. This work is characterized as documentary, exploratory, descriptive and qualitative and quantitative research. The quantitative analysis of publications was performed handling data about the publication type, number and year; type of authorship, genre, institutional affiliation, single or multiple, and the most cited authors. The content qualitative analysis relates to the recovered thematic approaches. Three sources of information have been considered, namely: The Journal Articles on Information Science Referential Database (BRAPCI), the Journals Portal from the Higher Education Human Resources Training Coordination (CAPES), and the conference proceedings of the National Colloquium of Research on Information Science (ENANCIB). The search strategy over these sources applied the term “legal information”. Main findings of this research are: a) publications are more common in journal articles than papers published in conference proceedings; b) the Information Science Journal is the most relevant source in terms of number of publications; c) the largest number of publications in the area happened in 2012; d) there was a female predominance of authorship, 18 female and five male; e) UNESP and UFPB concentrate most of the authors; f) multiple authorship prevails single authorship; g) the most cited authors are: José Augusto Chaves Guimarães and Edilenice Passos. In what the qualitative analysis is concerned, the thematic categories found after the publication analysis were: 1) Indexing, Retrieval and Organization of Legal Information on the Web; 2) Law Library; 3) Access and Dissemination of Legal Information; 4) Legal Information Users; 5) Types of Legal Information; 6) Collection Development Policy; 7) Control of Legal Information; 8) Legal Information Professionals.
