Kuntze possui regularidade na formação de anéis de crescimento anuais, por esta razão apresenta grande potencial em estudos dendrocronológicos. O estudo de dendrocronologia é de suma importância para determinar a idade e a influência de fatores ambientais e ecológicos sobre o crescimento das espécies arbóreas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar por meio de estudo de anéis de crescimento a influência de fatores climáticos no crescimento de araucárias que foram abatidas em um fragmento de floresta nativa para a construção de uma linha de alta tensão de energia elétrica, com localização no município de Curitibanos, Santa Catarina, situada nas coordenadas geográficas 27°19'19.3" S 50°32'16" O, e altitude variando de 1065 a 1040 m. Foram coletados seis amostras de discos transversais de diferentes árvores de A. angustifolia com altura de 0,2 m da base, posteriormente no Laboratório de Recursos Florestais I da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, as amostras passaram por processo de secagem e preparo da superfície transversal por meio de polimento, visando evidenciar os anéis de crescimento. Realizou-se a datação dos anéis de crescimento de seis amostras com o auxílio de um microscópio estereoscópico, marcando em quatro raios por amostra. As seções transversais foram digitalizadas, mensuradas, datadas, correlacionadas em softwares computacionais específicos para análise dendrocronológica. Os resultados do trabalho indicaram a partir da datação, idades variando de 32 a 84 anos, o que indica que área passava por um processo de regeneração natural. As séries de crescimento apresentaram um valor de intercorrelação de 0,586 estando acima do nível crítico de 0,516 (p < 0,01). Os maiores picos de crescimento entre os oito segmentos (raios) da mestra, ocorreram para as amostras CBS 02 - 03 e CBS 02 - 05 entre os anos de 1993 a 1997. Houve efeito significativo positivo da temperatura média mensal e precipitação média mensal influenciando no crescimento das árvores estudadas.Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. The study of dendrochronology is very important to determine the age and the influence of environmental and ecological factors on the growth of tree species. The objective of this work was to evaluate, by means of growth ring studies, the influence of climatic factors on the growth of araucarias that were felled in a native forest fragment for the construction of a high voltage power line, located in the municipality of. Curitibanos, Santa Catarina, located at the geographic coordinates 27 ° 19'19.3 "S 50 ° 32'16" O, and altitude ranging from 1065 to 1040 m. Six samples of transverse discs were collected from different A. angustifolia trees with a height of 0.2 m from the base, later in the Forest Resources Laboratory I of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The samples were submitted to drying and preparation of the transverse surface. by polishing, aiming to highlight the growth rings. Growth rings were dating from six samples with the aid of a stereomicroscope, marking at four rays per sample. The cross sections were digitized, measured, dated, correlated in specific computational software for dendrochronological analysis. The results of the study indicated from dating, ages ranging from 32 to 84 years, which indicates which area was undergoing a natural regeneration process. The growth series presented an intercorrelation value of 0.586 being above the critical level of 0.516 (p <0.01). The highest growth peaks among the eight master segments (rays) occurred for the CBS 02 - 03 and CBS 02 - 05 samples from 1993 to 1997.
