No Brasil, a primeira observação da deste fenótipo foi na Epagri-EEI em Itajaí, SC em 1996, permitindo a obtenção do acesso Multiespigueta, e também em Formoso do Araguaia, TO em 2006, pela Embrapa-CNPAF obtendo-se o acesso CNA 10928. Como é uma característica pouco frequente em arroz, estudos a cerca dos mecanismos genéticos, caracterização molecular e outras curiosidades ainda são pouco compreendidos. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar: i) as bases genéticas envolvidas no controle da característica, ii) os efeitos deste fenótipo sobre características agronômicas importantes, iii) verificar se os marcadores RM 6446 e RN 20330 caracterizam o fenótipo em descendentes de Multiespigueta assim como foi verificado com populações oriundas de CNA 10928, iv) estudar o efeito de deriva de Glifosato sobre a expressão do fenótipo em questão. A característica espiguetas agrupadas em arroz é controlada por um gene que sofre efeito de epistasia de um segundo gene, ambos ligados em 30 cM com interação alélica de co-dominância. As melhores produtividades foram obtidas com linhagens de panículas do tipo 4 (espiguetas não agrupadas) seguidos do tipo 1 e 2 (agrupadas em diferentes graus), respectivamente. A característica espiguetas agrupadas não contribuiu significativamente para a melhoria dos componentes de rendimentos para as linhagens de arroz avaliadas. O SSR RM 6446 não é polimórfico para a característica em estudo. Já o marcador RM 20330 caracterizou eficientemente linhagens de panículas agrupadas os quais apresentaram o alelo de 260 pb, e linhagens de panículas não agrupadas apresentaram o alelo 265 pb. Com os testes de deriva de glifosato, foi possível também, levantar a hipótese de que este herbicida atue no sítio de atuação do hormônio citocinina, e que este, por sua vez, controle a expressão da característica espiguetas agrupadas. Esta hipótese poderá ser testada futuramente.<br>Abstract : The phenotype clustered spikelets in rice is originated by natural mutation and to show two to six clustered spikelets on the same node of the rachis of the panicle, whereas in normal varieties is just one spikelet. In Brazil that mutation was observed by Epagri-EEI in Itajaí, SC, allowing to obtain access Multiespigueta, and also in Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins, by Embrapa-CNPAF, named access CNA 10928. Since it is a trait with low frequent in rice, studies about the genetic mechanisms, molecular characterization and other related issues are still poorly understood. Thus, the aims of this work were: i) to characterize the genetic basis involved in the control of the trait, ii) to measure the effects of this phenotype on important agronomic characteristics, iii) to check if the markers RM 6446 and RM 20330 could be use to identify the phenotype in descendants of Multiespigueta as well as segregating populations deriving from CNA 10928, iv) to identify the effect of glyfosate on the expression of parental distinct phenotypes. The characteristic clustered spikelets in rice is controlled by a gene that undergoes epistatic effect of a second gene, both linked at 30 cM, and the allelic interaction is co-dominance. The highest yield was obtained by lines with panicles type 4 (spikelets ungrouped) followed by lines of types 1 and 2 (grouped in different degrees), respectively. The characteristic spikelets clustered did not contribute significantly to the improvement of the yield components for the evaluated rice lines. SSR RM 6446 was not polymorphic for the trait under study. However, marker RM 20330 characterized efficiently plants with clustered panicles (260 bp allele versus not clustered panicles with 265 bp allele). Through fumigation of glyphosate on normal plants, progeny exhibited clustered spikelets. Thus, it is possible to hypothesize that this herbicide might acts at the site of action of the hormone cytokinin, and this, in turn, control the expression of the characteristic spikelets clustered.
