Resumo: The need to design environments that are better able to take advantage of natural light goes far beyond the savings generated by reduced energy consumption with artificial lighting. The feeling of well-being causes increased productivity and greater integration with external area and nature. This paper developed a mortar capable of generating a translucent wall by addition of polymeric optical fibers (POF). Prismatic test bodies were molded with dimensions (10x40x160cm) assessed the influence of POF in some physical-mechanical properties as water absorption by immersion, flexural strength, thermal conductivity and transmittance. Mechanical strength was analyzed at 90 and 120 days old. Plates were subjected to accelerated aging (drying/wet cycles, room with controlled temperature and humidity, outdoor and partial immersion in water) for periods of 60 and 90 days. The translucence of the translucent plates (TP) was assessed before and after exposure in the environments. The results showed that the addition of POF reduced significantly flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of the plates.

Mortar; Translucent; Fiber Optical Plastic.Desenvolvimento e avaliação de placas translúcidas de argamassa.Development and evaluation of mortar translucent platesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleporreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-817https://repositorio.ufsc.br/bitstream/123456789/242525/2/license.txtfe4c3deb9063ec56f564e0ab2489e7b4MD52ORIGINALANAIS ENSUS 2017 (1)-741-756 (1).pdfANAIS ENSUS 2017 (1)-741-756 (1).pdfapplication/pdf598492https://repositorio.ufsc.br/bitstream/123456789/242525/1/ANAIS%20ENSUS%202017%20%281%29-741-756%20%281%29.pdf00693b904c002f1d46eb66dfff2e8adfMD51123456789/2425252022-12-11 19:59:04.102oai:repositorio.ufsc.br:123456789/242525Q0M0IElOVEVSTkFDSU9OQUw=Repositório de PublicaçõesPUBhttp://150.162.242.35/oai/requestopendoar:23732022-12-11T22:59:04Repositório Institucional da UFSC - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
