Geologia.As descobertas de grandes reservas de hidrocarbonetos no off-shore brasileiro, especialmente sistemas petrolíferos não convencionais, demanda um melhor entendimento das intrusões ígneas nas interpretações e correlações geofísicas das seções estratigráficas. A caracterização desses corpos ígneos é relevante para que uma possível exploração em determinada área seja otimizada, tornando-se assim mais precisa. Visto que tais litotipos dificultam a interpretação dos dados geofísicos acerca da evolução dessas bacias e/ou províncias, trazendo novos desafios geológicos à exploração, torna-se necessário recorrer ao uso da geoquímica e da petrografia para sua caracterização, como é o caso da Bacia dos Parecis. Assim, esse trabalho voltou-se a a descrição petrográfica e geoquímica na caracterização da sucessão ígnea encontrada no furo de sondagem 2-ANP-6-MT, Formação Tapirapuã, afim de se auxiliar em futuras interpretações e correlações geofísicas. A partir do intervalo foram confeccionadas 49 lâminas e 27 das amostras mais significativas, foram analisadas geoquímicamente. A mineralogia básica das amostras do poço é composta por plagioclásio, piroxênio e minerais opacos (óxidos) com ou sem a presença de mesóstase. A textura e granulometria são variáveis ao longo da porção ígnea do poço 2-ANP-6-MT. Na porção inferior as rochas são de granulação grossa que variam de fanerítica média – grossa a pegmatítica. Acima desta zona a rocha é fanerítica fina a afanítica, de textura amigdaloidal e diktitaxítica. Na porção pegmatítica os cristais de plagioclásio e piroxênio são alongados e os opacos esqueletais. As porções mais inferiores do furo voltam a apresentar granulometria fina e média. As rochas são classificadas como basaltos, com teor de SiO2 entre 45-52% (exceto duas amostras), de natureza subalcalina do tipo toleítica, com destacado enriquecimento em FeOt em relação aos álcalis.The discovery of large hydrocarbon reservoirs on the Brazilian offshore, especially in non conventional oil systems, has required a better understanding of igneous intrusions in geophysical interpretations and correlations. The characterization of these igneous bodies is relevant so that a possible exploration in a given area is optimized, thus becoming more accurate. Since such lithotypes make it difficult to interpret geophysical data about the evolution of these basins and/or provinces, bringing new geological challenges to exploration, it is necessary to resort to apply geochemistry and petrography for their characterization, such as the case of the Parecis Basin. For this reason, this work focuses on the petrographic and geochemical description in the characterization of the igneous succession found in the 2-ANP-6-MT borehole, Tapirapuã Formation, in order to assist in future interpretations and geophysical correlations. From the interval, 49 slides were made and 27 of the most significant samples were geochemically analyzed. The basic mineralogy of the borehole samples is composed of plagioclase, pyroxene and opaque minerals (oxides) with or without the presence of mesostasis. Texture and grain size are variable along the igneous portion of the borehole 2-ANP-6-MT. In the lower portion, the rocks are coarser-grained, ranging from medium phaneritic - coarse to pegmatitic. Above this zone the rock is fine phaneritic to aphanitic, with a tonsil-like and diktitaxitic texture. In the pegmatitic portion the plagioclase and pyroxene crystals are elongated and the skeletal opaque. The lower portions of the borehole again show fine and medium grain size.
