A obtenção de elevadas produtividades é fundamental para que se tenha um maior retorno econômico nos cultivos comerciais. A densidade de plantas é um importante componente do rendimento da cultura que, associada ao arranjo de distribuição, pode alterar a morfologia das plantas e a produtividade. Além disso as cultivares possuem diferentes respostas em relação ao arranjo espacial de plantas, podendo compensar de maneira diferente as falhas e a redução na densidade de plantas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar como a densidade de plantas e o arranjo de distribuição influenciam na produtividade e na arquitetura de plantas de diferentes cultivares. Foram estudadas as cultivares Soytech 591 I2X, Agroeste 3590 IPRO e Brasmax 55i57 RSF IPRO. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 3x3 e parcelas subdivididas. Foi realizada a variação na densidade de plantas reduzindo 20% e 40% em comparação com a população recomendada. Para a variação do arranjo foram alteradas propositalmente as posições de 40 e 80% das plantas na linha de semeadura, gerando falhas e plantas duplas e comparados com a testemunha onde todas as plantas estavam equidistantes. As características avaliadas foram, altura de plantas, número de ramificações, altura de inserção da primeira vagem, número de vagens, peso de mil grãos e a produtividade. A redução da densidade e a desuniformidade de distribuição de plantas não alterou a produtividade de nenhuma das três cultivares estudadas. A redução da densidade de plantas resultou em uma menor altura de inserção de primeira vagem e maior número de vagens para a cultivar Agroeste 3590 IPRO, porém não teve influência na produtividade das cultivares. O aumento da quantidade de falhas e duplas influenciou na altura de plantas da cultivar Brasmax 55i57 RSF IPRO e no número de ramificações da cultivar Agroeste 3590 IPRO, porém não teve influência na produtividade das cultivares.Soybean cultivation is one of the most important in worldwide agriculture, and Brazil is the largest producer of the grain. Obtaining high yields is essential for achieving a greater economic return on commercial crops. Plant density is an important component of crop yield that, associated with the distribution arrangement, can change plant morphology and productivity. In addition, cultivars have different responses in relation to the spatial arrangement of plants, being able to compensate in different ways for failures and the reduction in plant density. The objective of this project was to evaluate how plant density and distribution arrangement influence the productivity and architecture of plants of different cultivars. Soytech 591 I2X, Agroeste 3590 IPRO and Brasmax 55i57 RSF IPRO cultivars were studied. The experimental design used was randomized blocks in a 3x3 factorial scheme and split plots. Plant density variation was carried out, reducing 20% and 40% compared to the recommended population. To vary the arrangement, the positions of 40 and 80% of the plants in the sowing line were purposely changed, generating gaps and double plants and compared with the control where all the plants were equidistant. The characteristics evaluated were plant height, number of branches, height of insertion of the first pod, number of pods, thousand-grain weight and productivity. The reduction in density and uneven distribution of plants did not change the productivity of any of the three cultivars studied. The reduction in plant density resulted in a lower height of insertion of the first pod and a greater number of pods for the cultivar Agroeste 3590 IPRO, however it had no influence on the productivity of the cultivars.
