The field of basic attention: an epistemiological reflection by Pierre Bourdieu’s lens

The Primary Care in the network of health care has been configured as a mediator of care. Reflecting on its current functioning and organization logic presents itself as a challenge, considering the vast literature and normative policies that already exist and that construct meanings about it. The reflection on the genesis of the concept of the field, its different conceptions and characteristics seized and discussed from the works of the theorist Pierre Bourdieu in this article allowed to recreate possibilities of analysis of the field of health, specifically in the field of Basic Attention. It was noticed that the models of health care adopted over time have emerged as being responsible for guiding the field of Primary Care, for determining the characteristics of the same, as well as for building meaning on the actions developed by the agents that work in it. In the light of Bourdieu, in turn, the field of Basic Attention can be seen as a field structured by different positions with specific properties and objects in dispute, as well as a social space for the production of care and knowledge.
