Resumo: This work is a research project with a phenomenological qualitative approach which is based on Maurice Merleau-Ponty's theoretical-philosophical reference framework and on Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutics. It aims to understand how nursing professionals in mental health perceive the care of oneself. Interviews with nursing staff from a Psychiatric Admission Unit of a Teaching Hospital in the center region of Rio Grande do Sul will be conducted. The understanding and interpretation of the findings are grounded in hermeneutic phenomenology of Paul Ricoeur

El objetivo del estudio es comprender cómo es para el profesional de enfermería en salud mental cuidar de sí mismo. Será realizada entrevista con el equipo de enfermería de una Unidad de Internación Psiquiátrica de un Hospital Universitario del interior del Rio Grande del Sur. La compresión e interpretación de los resultados se basan en la fenomenología hermenéutica de Paul Ricoeur.Trata-se de um projeto de pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa fenomenológica na qual se busca em Maurice Merleau-Ponty o referencial teórico-filosófico e de Paul Ricoeur a hermenêutica. Tem como objetivo compreender como é para o profissional de enfermagem em saúde mental cuidar de si. Será realizada entrevista com a equipe de enfermagem de uma Unidade de Internação Psiquiátrica de um Hospital Universitário do interior do Rio Grande do Sul.
