Resumo: Aim: to identify perceptions from pregnant women who are users of public health service in order to improve prenatal care. Methods: qualitative study. Data collection was conducted through interviews with 44 pregnant women who received prenatal care in primary health care unit in Maringá-PR, from November 2009 to February 2010. Data analysis was done by the Collective Subject Discourse technique with the aid of the Qualiquantisoft software. The speeches drew to Central Ideas that express the pregnant women’s suggestions and perceptions about prenatal care. Results: it was identified that users advise dialogue and orientation on prenatal consultations, the importance of groups of pregnant women, the need for health professionals to attend prenatal care, the relevance of examinations and consultations. Conclusion: the pregnant women’s perceptions allow to know what the real needs felt by them are and improve the health service to attend these events

Métodos: los datos fueron recogidos entre noviembre de 2009 y febrero de 2010 a través de entrevistas con 44 gestantes que realizaban el prenatal en Unidad Básica de Salud, en el municipio de Maringá- PR. Fue utilizado en el análisis la técnica del Discurso del Sujeto Colectivo por medio del software Qualiquantisoft. Las Ideas Centrales de los discursos expresan sugestiones y percepciones de las gestantes sobre el prenatal. Resultados: las pacientes aconsejan el diálogo y la orientación en las consultas, la importancia de los grupos de gestantes, la necesidad de profesionales para asistir el prenatal, la relevancia de los exámenes y de las consultas. Conclusión: las percepciones de las gestantes permitieron conocer las necesidades sentidas por ellas y mejorar el servicio de salud para atender a esas manifestaciones.http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/2179769213230Objetivo: identificar as sugestões de gestantes usuárias do serviço público de saúde sobre a assistência pré-natal. Métodos: a coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas com 44 gestantes que realizavam o pré-natal, em Unidade Básica de Saúde no município de Maringá- PR. A análise utilizou-se da técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo por meio do software Qualiquantifost. Dos discursos extraíram-se Idéias Centrais que expressam as sugestões e percepções das gestantes sobre o pré-natal. Resultados: identificou-se que as mesmas aconselham o diálogo e a orientação nas consultas, a importância dos grupos de gestantes, a necessidade de profissionais para assistir o pré-natal, a relevância dos exames e das consultas.
