Experience of the postpartum breastfeeding mothers regarding the breastfeeding practice

Resumo: Aim: To understand the practice of breastfeeding mothers regarding the breastfeeding process under the context of the guidance received at the Family Health Strategy (FHS) of the municipality of Silva Jardim. Method: descriptive exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews with twenty-one breastfeeding mothers assigned to the FHS area of Silva Jardim. Data collection occurred from January to April 2014. Results: two categories emerged: difficulties of breastfeeding from the viewpoint of the breastfeeding mothers: the need of implementing a line of care on breastfeeding in FHS; Promotion and support to breastfeeding during postpartum: a challenge for FHS. Conclusion: in this study, the experience of breastfeeding mothers in the breastfeeding process is related to the lack of cohesive information, allowing the adoption of inappropriate practices.

Método: estudio descriptivo-exploratorio, de enfoque cualitativo, mediante entrevista semiestructurada con veintiuna mujeres en periodo de lactancia del área de competencia de la ESF de la municipalidad de Silva Jardim. La recolección de datos ocurrió entre enero y abril de 2014. Resultados: se obtuvieron dos categorías: las dificultades de la lactancia materna bajo la óptica de esas mujeres: la necesidad de la implementación de cuidados en lactancia en la ESF; Promoción y apoyo a la lactancia en el postparto: un desafío para la ESF. Conclusión: en este estudio, la experiencia de las mujeres lactantes en el proceso de la lactancia materna está relacionada con la falta de información cohesiva, lo que permite la adopción de prácticas inadecuadas.Objetivo: conhecer as práticas das nutrizes frente ao processo do aleitamento materno no contexto das orientações recebidas na Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) do município de Silva Jardim. Método: estudo descritivo-exploratório, abordagem qualitativa, mediante entrevista semiestruturada com vinte e uma nutrizes da área adstrita da ESF do Município de Silva Jardim. A coleta de dados se sucedeu entre os meses de janeiro e abril de 2014. Resultados: foram obtidas duas categorias: as dificuldades do aleitamento materno sob a ótica das nutrizes: a necessidade da implementação da linha de cuidado em amamentação na ESF; Promoção e apoio à amamentação no puerpério: um desafio para a ESF.
