INFLUENCE OF PRECARIOUSNESS IN THE NURSING WORK PROCESS AND IN THE WORKER’S HEALTH

Resumo: | Aim: to describe the influence of precariousness in the nursing work process and in the worker’s health. Method: qualitative study performed in a university hospital. Twenty-one nursing workers were attended. We used the semi-structured interview technique, and data were analyzed through content analysis. Results: two categories emerged, which were called “The influence of precariousness in the work process”, characterized by the lack of inputs and human resources, with a consequent decrease in the quality of the service; and “The repercussions of precariousness in the worker’s health”, entailing physical and psychological exhaustion to the worker. Conclusion: there is a need to raise awareness in institutional managers regarding the precariousness of the nursing work process, based on the worker’s health and the guarantee of quality in nursing care. |

Método: estudio cualitativo, realizado en un hospital universitario. Participaron 21 trabajadores de enfermería. Para la recolección de los datos se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada, y estos fueron analizados por medio de análisis de contenido. Resultados: se evidenciaron dos categorías: “La influencia de la precarización en el proceso de trabajo”, caracterizada por la falta de materiales y recursos humanos, con consecuente caída en la calidad del servicio; y “Las repercusiones de la precarización de la salud del trabajador”, relacionada al desgaste físico y mental del trabajador. Conclusión: hay necesidad de sensibilizar los gestores institucionales sobre la precarización del proceso de trabajo de enfermería, teniendo como base la salud del trabajador y la garantía de calidad en la atención de enfermería.Objetivo: descrever a influência da precarização no processo de trabalho e na saúde do trabalhador de enfermagem. Método: estudo qualitativo realizado em um hospital universitário. Participaram 21 trabalhadores de enfermagem. Utilizou-se a entrevista semiestruturada, e os dados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo.
