Resumo: The purpose of this article is to contrast the literary version and the historical version of the Mucker episode that occurred in Rio Grande do Sul. The novel Videiras de Cristal, by Luis Antônio de Assis Brasill does not faithfully correspond to the story, as it is literature, but even so, care must be taken to avoid errors in the disclosure of events.
