Adorno, Drummond and the testimonial content of poetry

Resumo: The main objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between poetry and political experience in the book José by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, in light of the theory of lyric conception and society proposed by Theodor Adorno. As a specific objective, we will analyze the poem “José” from the concept of the testimony in the literary field, questioning his representation of the elements of a society in crisis. The testimonial content of Drummond’s poetry points out to the open possibilities of philosophical thought of the Brazilian literature.
