This study has as proposal the analyses of some traces of resistance present in some of the literary productions by the Paraguayan writer Augusto Roa Bastos. The chosen works are Vigilia del Almirante (2008) [Vigil of the Admiral] and the trilogy Yo, el supremo (1974)(2003), El fiscal (1993) e El hijo del hombre (2003) [ I, the Supreme; The Prosecutor and Son of Man]. The first novel is about the discovery age and develops a confrontation between Colon, the chronicler and the narrator. The trilogy deals with the quarrelsome scenarios of the Paraguayan history and some dictators and their relations with the power itself. The treatment given to this historical matter can be understood as resistance traces as well as some narrative artifices applied by the author. The analyses shall be done from the discussions about Resistance, discovery proposed by Galeano (1989), Bitterli (2012) and Grützmacher (2009).
