Resumo: | This study is based on bibliographical research and analysis of the works Soledad in Recife, novel by Urariano Mota, and Ausênc’as, photographic essay by Gustavo Germano. The hypothesis is that redundancy can be a viable category for the analysis of artistic productions, particularly those of a testimonial nature. To this end, we propose to show how redundancy operates in these productions not only as a resource of language, but, above all, as creative artifice. In considering redundancy as a key concept the analysis developed is based on three fundamental aspects: first, these productions are built on the basis of the notion of hiatus, a condition that permeates all the constituent dimensions of the materials analyzed in the corpus; second, the functions of redundancy within the testimonial or testimonial text; third, the idea that the memory of the insurgency, even after the insurgent’s physical perishing, prevails as a possibility of questioning of state violence, as well as the ethical and political uses of this memory. |
