Resumo: Traditionally, the poet Fernando Pessoa is seen by the critics as an author whose works privilege subjectivity instead of social matter. However, the philosopher Theodor Adorno alerts us that even the most pure poetry could be analyzed from a materialistic point of view. In this article, we would like to apply such form of thinking to de Odes of Ricardo Reis, basing our analysis also in the concept of Literary Field, by Pierre Bourdieu.

A crítica adorniana, entretanto, nos alerta para o fato de que a própria pureza da expressão poética pode ser analisada a partir de um viés materialista, na medida em que ela mesma parte de uma exigência social.
