Resumo: The present work seeks to critically discuss some discursive elements of Benjamin and Adorno about poetry, whose importance paves the way for the outline of a theory of modern lyric. It is important to point out that we do not intend to carry out an interpretation of modern poetry using the writings of Benjamin and Adorno as a theoretical contribution; our intention, much more modest, is to raise linguistic resources used by both philosophers in their analysis of modern lyric. This is an attempt to understand the Frankfurt School's modus dicendi on the subject through excerpts from their essays.

É importante ressaltar que não pretendemos realizar uma interpretação da poesia moderna valendo-nos dos escritos de Benjamin e Adorno como aporte teórico; nosso intento, bem mais modesto, é levantar recursos lingüísticos utilizados por ambos filósofos em suas análises sobre a lírica moderna.
