Resumo: The presented work analyzes some references that Alberto Rangel (1871-1945), a Brazilian author born in Pernambuco, weaves about the war in his volumes of memoirs, still unpublished, entitled Águas Revessas. Through his memorialistic writings, Rangel reconstructs his experience in a literary vein, narratives interspersed with reflections and quotations, as well as witnessing the two Great Wars on the spot.
