Natural products gain more supporters every day, which requires health professionals a more enhanced on the subject. Following this assumption, this study aimed to evaluate the use of natural products in the practice of health professionals. It is a search for quantitative trait, cross, exploratory, non-experimental design, conducted through interviews applying a questionnaire containing open and / or closed questions, addressing questions regarding the knowledge of health professionals 13 Health Programs (PSF’s) city of Rondonópolis (MT). Of the 64 respondents, 60.9% did not know the difference between herbal and medicinal plants, 67.2% partially rely on effects, 57.8% are unaware of the risks of indiscriminate and 63.6% do not prescribe such products. Considering these results, it is the ignorance and / or lack of preparation of the professionals regarding herbal and medicinal plants, more information is needed about pharmacological and toxic effects, minimizing risks to public health.
