Objective: to identify family members’ perceptions about multiprofessional care in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Method: Study with a qualitative approach, exploratory-descriptive. It was carried out in a public institution. Data collection took place through a semi-structured interview and subsequently analyzed using the content analysis technique. Results: 12 family members participated. The analysis of the interviews enabled the creation of the categories: Communication as an important practice in care and Multiprofessional Practice in the ICU. The family members perceived the team’s availability for clarification as a positive point in their care, considered that the visiting hours were adequate and identified the performance of the multiprofessional team in ICU care. Conclusion: Care during hospitalization should provide a holistic view and valuing the patient-team-family trinomial.
