CARACTERIZAÇÃO DA SEXUALIDADE EM PESSOAS IDOSAS

Objective: the study aims to characterize the sexuality of the elderly person  in the intrapersonal and interpersonal scope. Method: This is a descriptive survey of a quantitative approach that reached  48 elderly people over 60 years old, who responded in line with questions about social, health and sexuality dimensions. Result: Regarding sexually active life, 68.8% answered yes, while 31.3% said no. Regarding the use of condoms, 5% use it, 5% use it, 12.2% use it sometimes, 46.3% do not use it. When asked what they masturbated to, 65.3% answered yes, 39.6% who did not masturbate, 4.2% chose not to answer this question. With regard to pleasure during sexual intercourse, 34.75% answered that they should send it; 35.42% sometimes pleasure; 12.5% ​​did not enjoy the sexual act; and 8.33% chose not to answer this question when making an association between married marital status and lack of sexual pleasure, the latter with statistical significance (p=0.031). When asked if they had already used dating apps, 18.8% reported having used them at least once and 81.3% reported never having used them. Final considerations: a survey evidenced by an active sexual life, different from this popular survey of an elderly life. Another finding is not a finding of condom use by those surveyed, as well as a risk behavior of developing possibilities of sexually transmitted use. These attitudes demonstrate the need for health professionals (doctors, nurses and nursing technicians) to sensitize elderly people about the possible harm of not using condoms. It is essential to understand that aspects such as sexuality and self-esteem are intersected and therefore cannot be seen in isolation by the health team.
