Resumo: | To analyze the relationship between the cognitive state, through the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), with the International Classification and Functionality, Disability and Health (CIF). This is a cross-sectional study carried out in a Long-Term Care Institution for the older people in Cachoeira do Sul-RS in the from January and February of 2017. The Mini-Mental State Questionnaire (MMSE) was applied and the relationship between the MMSE domains and the ICF categories was performed. The sample consisted of 33 older people (79.0±10.3 years), women had greater cognitive deficit [n=8 (48%), p=0.05] than men [n=5 (31%), p=0.13]. There was a strong agreement between the areas of the MMSE and the categories of ICF, mainly in the Activity and Participation component. The majority of the older people did not present deficits in their cognitive capacity. The relationship between the MMSE and the ICF proved to be efficient for the recognition of indicators that would direct actions, enhancing cognitive functionality and minimizing losses in older people institutionalized. |

Universidade Federal de Santa Maria2019-01-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/article/view/3641810.5902/2236583436418Saúde (Santa Maria); Revista Saúde (Santa Maria), Vol.44, n.3, Set/Dez 2018Saúde (Santa Maria); Revista Saúde (Santa Maria), Vol.44, n.3, Set/Dez 20182236-58340103-4499reponame:Saúde (Santa Maria)instname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMporhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/article/view/36418/pdfCopyright (c) 2019 Saúde (Santa Maria)info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRezende, MuriloGoulart, Cássia Da LuzKonzen, Vanessa De MelloFleig, Tania Cristina Malezan2019-11-20T21:52:23Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/36418Revistahttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaudePUBhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/oairevistasaude.ufsm@gmail.com || amanda.revsaude@gmail.com || beatriz.revsaude@gmail.com2236-58342236-5834opendoar:2019-11-20T21:52:23Saúde (Santa Maria) - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)false |
