Resumo: The Environmental Education (EE) is a tool capable of establish a close relation between the society and environment, by awareness about the environmental issues faced by the planet and by the developing of a critical sense related to the improper use of natural resources. The main goal of this work was to elaborate an approach of EE to be applied into a Protected Area (Turvo State Park, Derrubadas, RS, Brazil), based on its major attractive attributes as fauna, flora, historical factors and activities already developed at this spot. There was elaborated a proposal of nature trail by exploring local ecological traits of this ecosystem, as for instance, succession process, litter presence, characterization and stratification of Seasonal Deciduous Forest. Legal and conceptual aspects related to the EE were also discussed, which showed the need of implantation of this project.

Legal and conceptual aspects related to the EE were also discussed, which showed the need of implantation of this project.A Educação Ambiental (EA) é uma ferramenta capaz de aproximar a sociedade do ambiente, de forma que esta se sensibilize com os problemas ambientais que vêm sendo enfrentados pelo planeta, além de criar um senso crítico em relação às questões ambientais. Assim, o trabalho objetivou a elaboração de uma proposta de EA para a Unidade de Conservação Parque Estadual do Turvo, localizado em Derrubadas-RS, destacando os fatores de maior relevância do Parque, como fauna e flora, fatores históricos e atividades já desenvolvidas no local. A proposta elaborada consistiu no desenvolvimento de uma Trilha Ecológica em uma determinada área do Parque, chamada de Trilha da Lagoa, onde foram apontadas estações abordando características da flora e da fauna, processos de sucessão, presença de serapilheira, caracterização e estratificação da Floresta Estacional Decidual.
