Resumo: A description of the self-reported profile of adult cyclists, MTB practitioners, was carried out, regarding motivations, characteristics and experience in sport, overweight and obesity assessed by the body mass index (BMI), occurrence of pain, sleep time, level of intensity during MTB practice, self-perceived flexibility and general physical resistance. This is a descriptive study with a mixed approach, which included 23 cyclists, aged between 33 and 72 years. They answered a questionnaire during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results and conclusions indicate that the motivations in MTB originates in childhood and adolescence, by group encouragement or by friends and family. Overweight/obesity and pain rates were high, over 70 and 50% respectively. Only 17.4% of cyclists achieved 7 hours of sleep or more at night. The occurrences of low flexibility (unexpected) and low/moderate general physical resistance exceeded 40%. Keywords: Cycling; physical activity; physical exercise; return to sport; SARS-CoV-2
