The study addresses on the experience of cinema in Uruguay from the viewpoint of its products and his fight to preserve and disseminate the cinema, with Uruguayan Cinemateca is the biggest icon. It´s presented through a brief history of Uruguayan film and main difficulties in production, restoration and distribution of their works, since the first production until the present day. Pioneers like Félix Olivier and Lorenzo Adrohere, stories about important films such as Pequeño héroe del Arroyo del Oro, and major events for the film industry in this country as the year of 1949 and the first movieclubs, the years 1960s and the videos of political ideals, the crisis of the 1990s, culminating with the success of the film and the recent phenomenon of Whisky and the resumption of Uruguayan cinema in 2000s.
