The aim of this work is to analyze and interpret excerpts from the book O Cão sem Plumas, a long poem written by João Cabral de Melo Neto, and to compare them to some works of the photographer Maureen Bisilliat, who paid homage to the poet in a book named after Cabral's poem. The comparison between these two works allows for a transformed and renovated glance to the poems based on what the photographer develops in the integration between photography and poetry. Hence, this reading is accomplished by using the reflections of Robert Stam and Linda Hutcheon, when they deal with the Adaptation Theory. Reflections on the work of João Cabral built by critics such as Antonio Candido, Alcides Villaça and João Alexandre Barbosa were also used.
