Summary: In this paper, based on Sérgio Farina’s analytical and interpretative reading proposal, we analyze As doze cores do vermelho, by Helena Parente Cunha. Originally published in 1989, the book seeks to deconstruct the homogeneous discourse of the patriarchal hegemonic culture, to discuss issues related to women in our society, to rethink the female literary production and to construct discourses in which women are seen as subjects.
