Resumo: This essay proposes to demonstrate how Silvina Ocampo’s writing problematizes the idea of female’s body and identity constructed by androcentric imaginary, taking as object the short tales “Autobiografía de Irene”, published in the book with the same name in 1948, and “El diario de Porfiria Bernal”, included in Las invitadas, published in 1961. To undertake such analysis, it will be of key importance the theorization carried out by scholars such Elaine Showalter (1994), Hélène Cixous (1997), Luce Irigaray (2017), Lucía Guerra (2006), Nelly Richard (2003), Rita Terezinha Schmidt (2017), Simone de Beauvoir (2009) e Sherry Ortner (1979), among others.
