Musealization and technologizing of language at the Museu da Língua Portuguesa

Resumo: In this article, we treat language as a museum object based on the Museu da Língua Portuguesa. Drawing on the theoretical and methodological approaches in Discourse Analysis, we discuss how the archives of this museum are established, observing language as a symbolic object that slides between distinctive movement of meaning, in the game between the possibility of a stabilizing effect and the event in the world. Such proposal leads us to a reflection regarding a possible process of “musealization” of language, while encompassing the concepts of museum and archives reviewed in their historicity.
