Resumo: In the stage adaptation of Otelo, realized by Folias D’Arte (2003-2004), critical reflection about the performance itself assumes crucial importance. The director Marco Antonio Rodrigues succeeds in finding a contemporary referent for his production by inserting the songs “New York, New York ”(Frank Sinatra) and “The End” (The Doors) which accumulate the functions of epic framing and critical comment on the action, thus establishing a dialogue between source and target cultures

Marco Antonio Rodrigues (encenador), através da inserção das músicas “New York, New York ”(Frank Sinatra) e “The End” (The Doors), que desempenham uma função de enquadramento épico e de comentário crítico da ação, identifica o referente contemporâneo ao estabelecer o diálogo entre a cultura-fonte e a cultura-alvo.Universidade Federal de Santa Maria2015-12-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/letras/article/view/2355010.5902/2176148523550Letras; n. 51 (Dez. 2015)- Literatura, Cultura e Outras Artes; p. 1352176-14851519-3985reponame:Letras (Santa Maria.
