Resumo: | Understanding the relationship between soil attributes and the development and growth of maize plants is an important factor for raising grain productivity with sustainability in the production system. The objective of this work was to relate soil quality indicators: biological and chemical attributes with characteristics related to corn grain production in subtropical climates in Brazil. For this, six experiments were carried out in three locations, Frederico Westphalen - RS and Santa Maria - RS in rainfed cultivation; and São Vicente do Sul - RS with central pivot irrigation, in the 2020/2021 crop year, divided into 2 sowing seasons, the first in September and the second in October, totaling six environments (three locations x two sowing seasons). The evaluations carried out were soil chemical analysis (macronutrients + pH, Al and MO), biological analysis (basal soil respiration, soil decomposition rate and soil fauna), yield components (number of rows per ear, number of grains per row and thousand-grain mass) and grain yield. The statistical analyzes used to evaluate the variables were canonical correlations and comparison of means. In the study of canonical correlations, it was observed that the linear dependence between the groups of variables is dependent on meteorological conditions. Under central pivot irrigation, there is a linear dependence between soil biological and chemical indicators. Already under rainfed corn cultivation system between soil biological indicators and corn grain production components. For the study of edaphic entomofauna diversity, it can be observed that the season factor has less influence on the fauna composition than the local factor. Even with differences in the frequency of individuals between the locations, the classification into 4 taxonomic groups corresponds to more than 80% of the individuals collected, with the Araneae and Coleoptera groups corresponding to more than 50% of the relative frequency of individuals observed in the study. The residue decomposition rate, Margalef diversity index and the taxonomic groups Acarina, Araneae, Oligochaeta and Chilopoda had a positive correlation with grain yield. Areas with higher grain yields had favorable conditions for a faster decomposition rate, consequently a greater activity of the organisms and nutrient cycling. Finally, the results in the present study suggest that a broad set of attributes should be considered as indicators of soil quality, since their response is sensitive to environmental conditions. |

O objetivo deste trabalho foi relacionar indicadores da qualidade do solo: atributos biológicos e químicos com características relacionadas a produção de grãos de milho, em locais de clima subtropical no Brasil. Para isso, foram conduzidos seis experimentos em três locais, Frederico Westphalen - RS e Santa Maria - RS em cultivo de sequeiro; e São Vicente do Sul - RS com irrigação por pivô central, no ano agrícola 2020/2021, divididos em 2 épocas de semeadura a primeira no mês de setembro e a segunda no mês de outubro, totalizando seis ambientes (três locais x duas épocas de semeadura). As avaliações realizadas foram análise química do solo (macronutrientes + pH, Al e MO), análise biológica (respiração basal do solo, taxa de decomposição e fauna do solo), componentes de produção (número de fileira por espiga, número de grãos por fileira e massa de mil grãos) e a produtividade de grãos. As análises estatísticas utilizadas para avaliação das variáveis foram correlações canônicas e comparação de médias. No estudo de correlações canônicas foi observado que a dependência linear entre os grupos de variáveis é dependente das condições meteorológicas. Sob sistema de cultivo irrigado por pivô central há dependência linear entre os indicadores biológicos e químicos do solo. Já sob sistema de cultivo de milho em sequeiro entre os indicadores biológicos do solo e os componentes de produção de grãos de milho. Para o estudo de diversidade da entomofauna edáfica, pode ser observado que o fator época tem menor influência na composição da fauna do que o fator local. Mesmo com diferenças na frequência de indivíduos entre os locais, a classificação em 4 grupos taxonômicos corresponde a mais de 80% dos indivíduos coletados, sendo os grupos Araneae e Coleoptera correspondentes a mais de 50% da frequência relativa de indivíduos observados no estudo. A taxa de decomposição de resíduo, índice de diversidade de Margalef e os grupos taxonômicos Acarina, Araneae, Oligochaeta e Chilopoda tiveram correlação positiva com produtividade de grãos. Áreas com maiores produtividades de grãos tiveram condições propicias para uma taxa de decomposição mais rápida, consequentemente uma maior atividade dos organismos e ciclagem de nutrientes. Por fim, os resultados no presente estudo sugerem que seja considerado um conjunto amplo de atributos como indicadores da qualidade do solo, devido a resposta dos mesmos serem sensíveis a condições ambientais.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em AgronomiaUFSMBrasilAgronomiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCorrelações canônicasMicrorganismo do soloBioindicadoresProdutividade de grãosZea Mays L.Canonical correlationsDifferent environmentsBioindicatorsGrain yieldCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::AGRONOMIARelações lineares entre atributos químicos e biológicos indicadores da qualidade do solo associados ao desempenho agronômico na cultura do milhoLinear relationships between chemical and biological attributes indicators of soil quality associated with agronomic performance in corn cultureinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisFollmann, Diego Nicolauhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0243535910191720Lúcio, Alessandro Dal'ColNardino, MaiconJacques, Rodrigo Josemar Seminotihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1375874573705789Rosa, Guilherme Bergeijer da5001000000096006006006006006005f899955-2e2f-4a29-97c5-3295bede690c9a20063a-afc5-4603-a4c3-7556a8163d895b58bf69-09c1-43d1-a2c0-798e00fa197713ef3233-d793-4c15-b23b-2c662bb826dcecbb31ec-01a5-443c-9d2c-f63bfbd68956reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
