Resumo: | In a society, where scientific research is advancing rapidly, it is imminent to develop different cognitive skills to citizen to understand and use the available knowledge. With Microbiology is no different, scientific discoveries have imposed on society to make choices and express opinions, for which, they need to be prepared. The problem is that, because Microbiology is an abstract science, its formal teaching has been a challenge for some teachers. As a consequence, many students have difficulties in interpreting daily phenomena related to microbiology. In this context, the main objective of this work was to contribute to the scientific literacy about microorganisms, based on the understanding of the role of experimental classes as a strategy for teaching in Elementary School. In order to do this, we investigate how the teacher’s difficulties in class take place, we carried out a continuous training course and verified their influence on the qualification of the pedagogical practice, and also analyzed the potential of the experimental classes for students' learning about microbiology. This study was characterized as social education research, which did not have a unique methodology, but rather, different methodological paths constructed throughout the process. The conclusions and discussions emerged from qualitative and quantitative analyzes of the results. With these analyzes found that although most teachers agree with the importance of practical classes, they don't feel prepared to perform experimental practical classes of microbiology, the main difficulties reported was the lack of material, knowledge, time, laboratory and support pedagogical. The continuous training course was an effective alternative to minimize the difficulties of teachers with the experimentation strategy and with the disciplinary knowledge about microorganisms. It was also realized that teachers need to improve their knowledge to contextualize and problematize the classroom contents causing incomplete or incompatible conceptions of the students' with the scientific knowledge about the microbial world. However, although the methodology of this work is not the only one capable of qualifying the teaching of microbiology in Elementary School, it has great potential to associate the learning of contents on microorganisms with the development of skills that allow the student Interpret and evaluate situations different from those learned in the classroom. |

Com a microbiologia não é diferente, as descobertas científicas têm imposto à sociedade realizar escolhas e manifestar opiniões, para as quais, precisa estar preparado. O problema é que, por ser uma ciência abstrata, o seu ensino formal tem sido um desafio para alguns professores. Como consequência, muitos estudantes apresentam dificuldades em interpretar fenômenos cotidianos relacionados aos microrganismos. Neste contexto o presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal contribuir para o letramento científico sobre os microrganismos, a partir do entendimento do papel das aulas experimentais como estratégia para o seu ensino na Educação Básica. Para isso, investigamos como acontecem e quais as dificuldades dos professores para as aulas, realizamos um curso de formação continuada e verificamos a sua influência na qualificação da prática pedagógica e ainda, analisamos o potencial das aulas experimentais para o aprendizado dos estudantes sobre microbiologia. O presente estudo se caracterizou como uma pesquisa ação, que não teve uma metodologia única, mas sim, diferentes caminhos metodológicos construídos ao longo do processo. As conclusões e discussões emergiram de análises qualitativas e quantitativas dos resultados. Com essas análises constatamos que embora a maioria dos professores concorda com a importância das aulas práticas, não se sente preparada para realizar aulas práticas experimentais de microbiologia, tendo como principais dificuldades a falta de material, de conhecimento, de tempo, de laboratório e de apoio pedagógico. O curso de formação continuada foi uma alternativa eficaz para minimizar as dificuldades dos professores com a estratégia de experimentação e com o conhecimento disciplinar sobre microrganismos. Percebeu-se também que os professores necessitam aprimorar seus conhecimentos para contextualizarem e problematizarem os conteúdos em sala de aula refletindo nas concepções incompleta ou incompatível com os saberes científicos dos alunos sobre o mundo microbiano. Contudo, embora a metodologia, da qual se ocupa este trabalho, não seja a única capaz de qualificar o ensino de microbiologia na Educação Básica, ela tem um grande potencial para associar a aprendizagem de conteúdos sobre microrganismos com o desenvolvimento de habilidades que permitem ao estudante interpretar e avaliar situações diferentes daquelas aprendidas em sala de aula.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Naturais e ExatasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Educação em Ciências: Química da Vida e SaúdeUFSMBrasilCiências BiológicasAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessEducação básicaMicrorganismosAulas experimentaisFormação continuadaElementary schoolMicroorganismsExperimental classesContinuing educationCNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICASO potencial da experimentação no desenvolvimento de habilidades cognitivas e na qualificação do ensino sobre microrganismos na educação básicaThe potential of experimentation in the development of cognitive skills and in the qualification of teaching microorganisms in elementary schoolinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisRocha, João Batista Teixeira dahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3935055744673018Loreto, Elgion Lucio da Silvahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6493669115018157Goldschmidt, Andréa Inêshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6491503571016482Copetti, Jaquelinehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1554363972064498Folmer, Vanderleihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8135232309980269http://lattes.cnpq.br/7601919196991325Moresco, Terimar Ruoso20000000000660027186f63-94dd-4f0f-8181-7ce1b0835009554a1c9f-fe62-467e-8fc3-0aa3314fb8c351e64840-2115-48e5-a1ae-149b2103bd04e740c542-e7d7-4e23-ade5-225232c7d27293c9f07b-740b-4443-bae1-86ca4687cbee9363483b-d41c-4214-92f2-2e2c8d2506c2reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALTES_PPGEC_2017_MORESCO_TERIMAR.pdfTES_PPGEC_2017_MORESCO_TERIMAR.pdfTese de Doutoradoapplication/pdf3885907http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/12165/1/TES_PPGEC_2017_MORESCO_TERIMAR.pdfda11c22b0c36e37405ca48569efa7bc5MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
