Resumo: | On the world stage, the age pyramid have been suffering alterations with the accelerated increase of aged people, which characterizes the aging of global population. Therefore, it is necessary to create conditions for aged people to live in well-being, physical and mental health as well as to provide life quality improvements. Thermal comfort has essential contributions for a human and accessible architecture. Thus, the present work intends to contribute with the theme from the analysis of the influence of the elderly female population in the evaluation of thermal comfort by the Fanger method, normalized by ASHRAE and ISO, in living environments of two long stay nursing homes in the city of Santa Maria, RS. The target audience considered for this work was female person aged 60 years or older. The environmental variables of air temperature, humidity, globe temperature and air velocity as well as the human variables of clothing insulation and physical work have been collected. The research also measured the thermal sensation and preference of the elderly women by means of the application of surveys, to evaluate their thermal perception. After the data collection, the indices for sensation of thermal comfort were calculated, as the predicted mean vote (PMV) and the predicted percentage of dissatisfied (PPD). The data analysis was descriptive and comparative of the field research information and the indices determined by the PMV model. The PMV and PPD were related with the real sensation of the researched population to verify the mutual relation established between the indices, to demonstrate how the model explains or not the results collected. The main result is that the PMV model is applicable, with reasonable accuracy, to evaluate the thermal comfort considering the researched population. However, there is a tendency for the elderly women to feel slightly more heated then the model estimates. It is highlighted the importance of metabolic rate calculation for each person considering the weight, height and age for the PMV model application in terms of studies applied to elderly women in Santa Maria, RS because the alteration of this variable results in significantly different outputs, obtained by the metabolic rate accuracy verification. Additionally, the study established the thermal comfort limits for the elderly women researched by statistical analysis, considering the air temperature and humidity limits of the tree rooms researched, resulting in a mean comfort range with internal air temperature of the rooms between 21,68ºC and 24,81ºC and internal relative humidity between 44,33% and 72,52%. |

Em vista disso, é necessário criar condições para que os idosos vivam em bem-estar, saúde física e mental, assim como fornecer melhorias na qualidade de vida, onde o conforto térmico é fundamental na contribuição de um panorama arquitetônico mais humano e acessível. Dessa forma, esta pesquisa pretende contribuir com o tema a partir da análise da influência da população idosa feminina na avaliação de conforto térmico pelo método de Fanger, normatizado pela ASHRAE e ISO, em ambientes de estar de dois residenciais geriátricos na cidade de Santa Maria, RS. O público alvo considerado foram pessoas de 60 anos ou mais, do sexo feminino. Foram medidas as variáveis ambientais temperatura do ar, umidade do ar, temperatura de globo e velocidade do ar, assim como as variáveis humanas vestimenta e atividade física. Além disso, foram levantadas a sensação e preferência térmica das idosas mediante aplicação de questionários, avaliando sua percepção térmica. Após as medições, foram calculados o índice de sensação analítica de conforto, ou voto médio estimado (PMV), e porcentagem estimada de insatisfeitos (PPD). A análise de dados foi feita de forma descritiva e comparativa entre aqueles obtidos em campo e os índices determinados pelo modelo PMV. O PMV e o PPD foram relacionados com a sensação real dos usuários para verificar a relação mútua estabelecida entre estes índices, podendo evidenciar o quanto o modelo é explicativo ou não dos dados levantados. Como principal resultado, tem-se que o modelo PMV é aplicável para a avaliação de conforto térmico considerando a população pesquisada, contudo, há a tendência de as idosas sentirem-se levemente mais aquecidas do que o modelo estima. Salienta-se a grande importância em calcular a taxa metabólica para cada indivíduo considerando peso, altura e idade para aplicação do modelo PMV, tratando-se de estudos aplicados a idosas na região de Santa Maria/RS, pois somente alterando esta variável, obtêm-se resultados bem diferentes, obtidos por meio da verificação da precisão da taxa metabólica. Adicionalmente, estabeleceu-se limites de conforto térmico para as idosas pesquisadas por meio de análise estatística, considerando os limites para temperatura e umidade nas três salas de estar pesquisadas, onde a faixa de conforto média para a temperatura do ar interna dos ambientes ficou entre 21,68°C e 24,81°C e para a umidade relativa interna entre 44,33% e 72,52%.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia CivilUFSMBrasilEngenharia CivilAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessConforto térmicoIdosasPMVSensação térmicaFaixa de confortoThermal comfortElderly womenPMVThermal sensationComfort rangeCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILInfluência da população idosa feminina na avaliação de conforto térmico pelo Modelo de FangerInfluence of female elderly population in the evaluation of thermal comfort by Fanger Modelinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisGrigoletti, Giane de Camposhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9725292275606192Santos, Joaquim Cesar Pizzutti doshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6591314076760539Vergara, Lizandra Garcia Lupihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2408215374283146http://lattes.cnpq.br/8308361004808050Ruviaro, Raiana Spat3001000000036001de16499-3baf-492b-8484-6e4d8f2f27681a928419-db87-420b-a06a-6d27d73e8a8331936aa2-9757-47c4-87f2-4a2294ca0ab15e9cf32c-a823-40e0-b8fa-1bc306e09900reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEC_2018_RUVIARO_RAIANA.pdfDIS_PPGEC_2018_RUVIARO_RAIANA.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf5668301http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/15962/1/DIS_PPGEC_2018_RUVIARO_RAIANA.pdff5acd011caf616560a5f4a0f1204c026MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
