Resumo: This work aims to evaluate the behavior of synchronous generators against total (TLOE) and partial (PLOE) loss of excitation, to demonstrate the behavior of the main electrical variables involved, to analyze the performance, propose modifications and to perform a comparative study among the several LOE protection methodologies proposed in the literature. The methods are presented in order to provide the main variables to be parameterized according with the protection technique, in order to facilitate the use of these by professionals in the area, besides helping to identify the circumstances in which a method is more appropriate than the other. In order to identify the performance of each technique, computational simulations of LOE are performed, with the excitation voltage being reduced to 100%, 80% and 60% of the steady state excitation voltage. Also in this context, trying to understand the influence of the FACTS controllers of the type STATCOM, simulations are realized with this equipment. As the methods have adjustments that are based on the parameters of the protected generator, tests were performed on two different systems with different machines at different operational points. In this way, it was possible to conclude that the methods do not behave in the same way for generators of different sizes and in different systems, it is still possible to conclude that the methods currently used commercially have difficulty of acting against PLOE and end up suffering influence of the STATCOM device in its performance, delaying the trip of the protection or, often, sub-reaching the protection zones. Since the method proposed by Mahamedi, Zhu e Hashemi (2015) has a good performance against TLOE, it is recommended to use this in order to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of the protection against TLOE, mainly because it is a method of easy parameterization and have as a characteristic do not vary their behavior according to the nominal power of the generator. Also, it is recommended to use the technique proposed by Amini, Davarpanah e Sanaye-Pasand (2015) with the modifications proposed in this dissertation, as this method proved to be the best for PLOE detection.

Os métodos são apresentados de forma a dispor as principais variáveis a serem parametrizadas de acordo com a técnica de proteção, de forma a facilitar o uso dessas pelos profissionais da área, além de auxiliar na identificação das circunstâncias em que um método é mais apropriado do que o outro. Com o objetivo de identificar o desempenho de cada técnica são realizadas simulações computacionais de PE, sendo a tensão de excitação reduzida em 100%, 80% e 60% da tensão de excitação em regime permanente. Ainda neste contexto, procurando compreender a influência dos controladores FACTS, do tipo STATCOM, são realizadas simulações com esse equipamento. Como alguns dos métodos possuem ajustes que são em função dos parâmetros do gerador protegido, realizaram-se testes em dois diferentes sistemas com máquinas distintas em diferentes pontos operacionais. Desta forma, foi possível perceber que os métodos não se comportam da mesma maneira para geradores de diferente porte e em diferentes sistemas, ainda é possível concluir que os métodos atualmente utilizados comercialmente possuem dificuldade de atuação frente a PEP e acabam sofrendo influência do dispositivo STATCOM em sua performance, atrasando o disparo da proteção ou, muitas vezes, subalcançando as zonas de proteção. Visto que o método proposto por Mahamedi, Zhu e Hashemi (2015) obteve um bom desempenho frente a PET recomenda-se o uso desse visando garantir a confiabilidade e eficiência da proteção contra a PET, principalmente pelo fato de ser um método de fácil parametrização e ter como característica não variar seu comportamento de acordo com a potência nominal do gerador. Ainda, recomenda-se o uso da técnica proposta por Amini, Davarpanah e Sanaye-Pasand (2015) com as modificações propostas nesta dissertação, pois esse método mostrou ser o melhor para detecção de PEP.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia ElétricaUFSMBrasilEngenharia ElétricaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGeradores síncronosProteçãoPerda de excitação parcialSynchronous generatorsProtectionPartial loss of excitationCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA ELETRICAAvaliação do desempenho dos métodos de proteção contra a perda de excitação em geradores síncronos: uma contribuição para a melhoria da técnica baseada em combinações de sinaisPerformance evaluation of the loss of excitation protection methods in synchronous generator: a contribution to the improvement of technique based on signal combinationsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisCardoso Junior, Ghendyhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6284386218725402Morais, Adriano Peres dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2780595038162903Oliveira, Aécio de Limahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3513022402512752Silva, Kleber Melo ehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8795500242651581http://lattes.cnpq.br/3195320953354028Gallas, Mairon300400000007600eed4f55e-1a74-47ce-afc0-4daa8655d8a310483201-e486-4bc4-8c80-ec0a9a2d63cb0e29392d-16e9-4995-aa78-7cae952c362ab325897b-e199-425a-9d1d-34f3c1e4e8c17e0eb90e-34d3-4132-b2b9-1dd50ee57b6breponame:Repositório Institucional Manancial UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
