Resumo: | Healthy aging alone is a challenge, but associated with some disability it becomes a complex task in a scenario from a personal perspective. The objective was to analyze the personal perspective of old age of people with visual impairment who practice Goalball. The research is of a quantitative nature, characterized as a case study. The participants were selected intentionally, so there was the participation of 19 visually impaired people, who practice Goalball. Of these 11 are men and 8 women with an average age of 36 years. The research site was the Association of the Blind of Rio Grande do Sul (ACERGS), which has the practice of sports. For data collection, a socio-demographic data sheet and a disability data sheet, and the Sheppard Inventory (Neri, 1986) were used. For analysis, a database was created initially composed of numeric and categorical variables. STATA software version 12.1 was used to perform data analysis. The descriptive analysis consisted of the presentation of measures of central tendency as mean and median, measures of dispersion as standard deviation for numerical variables, and the presentation of frequencies and percentages for categorical variables. For the inferences, the t test was applied to compare quantitative variables of independent samples, chi-square association test and fisher's exact test for association between two categorical variables. The value of 5% for the level of significance was considered as a reference and all ethical criteria were respected. All participants agreed to participate in the study by accepting the informed consent form, which was sent via the Google form, and were aware of the objectives and procedures of the present study. From the results there was the production of the article, pointing out that the perceptions of old age in all the analyzed factors were positive. It is also pointed out that some characteristics of the disability, the contextual conditions of the participants, associated with the practice of Goalball, positively influenced the way of seeing old age. It was concluded that in this group, the disability is not a limiter, nor an indicator that foresees an old age marked by negative perceptions, having the practice of Goalball as a potentiator of healthy aging. It is understood that old age is a socially and culturally constructed category, and that there is no single way of aging which depends on the context in which people are inserted. It is also known that the results obtained in this study cannot be generalized, due to the characteristics and peculiarities found. Finally, it is clear that aging with a disability requires adaptations, especially in a society still unprepared for human diversity, but it does not limit and / or prevent old age as a positive phase in life, maturing and visibility. |

Objetivou-se assim, analisar a perspectiva pessoal de velhice de pessoas com deficiência visual praticantes de Goalball. A pesquisa é de cunho quantitativo, caracterizando-se como um estudo de caso. Os participantes foram selecionados de forma intencional, assim teve-e a participação de 19 pessoas com deficiência visual, praticantes de Goalball. Destes 11 são homens e 8 mulheres com idade média de 36 anos. O local de pesquisa foi a Associação de Cegos do Rio Grande do Sul (ACERGS), que conta com a prática da modalidade esportiva. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizadas uma ficha de dados sócio-demográficos e outra de dados da deficiência, e o Inventário Sheppard (Neri, 1986). Para análise inicialmente criou-se um banco de dados composto de variáveis numéricas e categóricas. Utilizou-se o software STATA versão 12.1 para realizar a análise dos dados. A análise descritiva foi composta da apresentação as medidas de tendência central como média e mediana, medidas de dispersão como desvio padrão para as variáveis numéricas, e a apresentação de freqüências e percentagens para as variáveis categóricas. Para as inferências aplicou-se o teste t para comparação de variáveis quantitativas de amostras independentes, teste de associação de qui-quadrado e exato de fisher para associação entre duas variáveis categóricas. Considerou-se como referência o valor de 5% para o nível de significância e todos os critérios éticos foram respeitados. Todos os participantes aceitaram participar do estudo através do aceite do TCLE, este enviado via fomulário Google, e estavam cientes dos objetivos e procedimentos do presente estudo. Dos resultados houve a produção do artigo, apontando que as percepções de velhice em todos os fatores analisados foram positivas. Também se aponta que algumas características da deficiência, as condições contextuais dos participantes, associado à prática do Goalball, influenciaram positivamente no modo de ver a velhice. Concluiu-se que neste grupo, a deficiência não é um limitador, nem um indicador que prevê uma velhice marcada por percepções negativas, tendo a prática do Goalball como uma potencializador de um envelhecimento saudável. Entende-se a velhice é uma categoria social e culturalmente construída, e que não existe uma maneira única de envelhecer o que depende do contexto em que as pessoas estão inseridas. Sabe-se também que os resultados obtidos neste estudo não podem ser generalizados, em função das características e particularidades encontradas. Por fim, percebe-se que envelhecer com uma deficiência exige adaptações, principalmente em uma sociedade ainda despreparada para a diversidade humana, porém não limita e/ou impede de se pensar a velhice como uma fase positiva na vida, de amadurecimento e visibilidade.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Educação Física e DesportosPrograma de Pós-Graduação em GerontologiaUFSMBrasilCiências da SaúdeAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessEnvelhecimentoVelhiceDeficiência visualGoalballAgingOld ageVisual impairmentCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDEUm olhar para as perspectivas sobre a velhice de pessoas com deficiência visual praticantes de goalballA look at the perspectives on old age of people with visual disabilities practicing from goalballinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisViana, Luciana Erina Palmahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5175012565614583Duarte, Gustavo de OliveiraFlores, Patric PaludettHatje, MarliXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXFeck, Roberta Marostega40000000000160060060060025fd535b-a11d-4950-8392-c9b9a3f475b29d715ed0-0c4d-4f89-b1fb-94e9b68a5a2104f866a5-7c9d-4518-996f-a97c1a2df9352007c6fb-dd0f-4f93-a19a-e0654bd8a331639c75cc-5114-4840-9b4c-89af9ad90d49reponame:Repositório Institucional Manancial UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGGERONTOLOGIA_2021_FECK_ROBERTA.pdfDIS_PPGGERONTOLOGIA_2021_FECK_ROBERTA.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf1062681http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/21921/1/DIS_PPGGERONTOLOGIA_2021_FECK_ROBERTA.pdf035a26ce8a6d1d63caada1aa4dd97e96MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
