Behavioral reactions of visitors through the zoo enclosure of cats in municipl Curitiba, Paraná

Resumo: Aiming to improve the quality of visits Curitiba Municipal Zoo this paper proposed conductobservations in the precincts of cats through the following actions: characterization of the visitingpublic, development of educational activities and observation of behavioral reactions. The visitorswere observed without direct inference regarding attitudes towards the cat enclosure and alsowith the behavior of activities exposed before. The reactions were noted in plug itself. Thefollowing results were obtained: adults accompanied by children spent more time in front of theenclosures, men showed interest and curiosity about animals, women showed attitudes ofcuriosity and wonder, men and women performed the activities proposed in EnvironmentalEducation. The activities were self-explanatory that obtained better results. Based on these resultsit was found that the visitors had good acceptance in the face of environmental educationactivities conducted, demonstrating the urgent need to implement this practice in this zoo.

Os visitantes foram observados sem inferência direta com relação às atitudes frente ao recinto dos felinos e também com relação ao comportamento diante das atividades expostas. As reações foram anotadas em ficha própria. Os seguintes resultados foram obtidos: adultos acompanhados por crianças permaneceram mais tempo em frente aos recintos, homens demonstraram interesse e curiosidade sobre os animais, mulheres apresentaram atitudes de curiosidade e admiração, homens e mulheres realizaram as atividades em Educação Ambiental propostas. As atividades autoexplicativas foram as que obtiveram melhores resultados.
