Enabling the Composting Process at URI/Santo Ângelo-RS, for the Seedlings Production on Environmental Education of Eco-Ngo Global Missions

Resumo: | The study aimed to facilitate the composting process with leaves collected on the campus of URI/Santo Angelo-RS, with the planting of collected seeds for activities in Environmental Education. Practical development was held in Campus area with elementary school students of the School Dr. Orlando Sparta de Souza in partnership with Eco-NGO Global Missions. The organic materials used in composting are decomposable along with the implementation of earthworms Eisenia andrei as physical and chemical parameters required for the reactions. The formed slurry is a biofertilizer used in a 1: 10L. The humus, after thirty days, was mixed 1:10 with lato-soil soil from Santo Angelo to prepare the substrate which was placed in transparent PET bottles (2L), where the seeds were sown by the students involved. The sowing of the plant species provides the production of seedlings which were grown in an ultimate site in the community surrounding the school. The interaction between the university and the community is essential, so that environmental education rescues personal values and also promotes social and environmental well-being. It becomes a sustainable alternative on the recovering of damaged areas and restoration riparian forests and environmental education. |

O desenvolvimento prático foi realizado na área do Campus com os alunos do Ensino Fundamental da Escola Municipal Dr. Orlando Sparta de Souza em parceria com a ONG Eco-Global Missões. Os materiais orgânicos utilizados na composteira são passíveis de decomposição juntamente com a implantação das minhocas Eisenia andrei, conforme parâmetros físicos e químicos exigidos para as reações. O chorume formado é um biofertilizante utilizado na proporção 1:10L. O húmus, após trinta dias, foi misturado na proporção de 1:10 com o solo lato-solo de Santo Ângelo no preparo do substrato que foi acondicionado em garrafas PET transparentes (2L), onde as sementes foram semeadas pelos alunos envolvidos. A semeadura das espécies vegetais proporcionou a produção de plântulas, as quais foram plantadas em local definitivo na comunidade que envolve a escola. A interação entre a universidade e a comunidade é fundamental para que a Educação Ambiental resgate valores pessoais e, também, promova o bem estar socioambiental.
