Lázaro Case: the Novelization of Crime in the Brazil Urgente Program on TV Bandeirantes

Resumo: In June 2021, the Lázaro Barbosa case shocked the country, after the repercussions of a family of four who were murdered in Ceilândia, in the Federal District. After the act, some police programs on Brazilian TV began to cover the case in an exaggerated manner. Therefore, this article sought to analyze the coverage of the Lázaro Barbosa case by the Brasil Urgente program on TV Bandeirantes, highlighting strategies with a sensationalist bias. Among the specific objectives is to describe how the program kept the alleged stalking on the air; identify traces of sensationalism in journalistic coverage and discuss the novelization of journalistic content during coverage of the case. It appears that there was a novelization of the case during the coverage of the persecution of Lázaro Barbosa and that the program Brasil Urgente was sensationalist when dealing with the subject, with moralistic speeches uttered by the presenter and sadistic comparisons. In addition, it is concluded that the program explored the case disproportionately, with practically entire programs dedicated to this coverage.

Después del hecho, algunos programas policiales de la televisión brasileña comenzaron a cubrir el caso de manera exagerada. Por lo tanto, este artículo buscó analizar la cobertura del caso Lázaro Barbosa por el programa Brasil Urgente de TV Bandeirantes, destacando estrategias con sesgo sensacionalista. Entre los objetivos específicos está describir cómo el programa mantuvo en el aire el presunto acoso; identificar rastros de sensacionalismo en la cobertura periodística y discutir la novelización del contenido periodístico durante la cobertura del caso. Parece que hubo una novelización del caso durante la cobertura de la persecución de Lázaro Barbosa y que el programa Brasil Urgente fue sensacionalista al tratar el tema, con discursos moralistas del presentador y comparaciones sádicas. Además, se concluye que el programa exploró el caso de manera desproporcionada, con programas prácticamente completos dedicados a esta cobertura.Em junho de 2021, o caso Lázaro Barbosa chocou o país, após a repercussão de uma família de quatro pessoas que foi assassinada em Ceilândia, no Distrito Federal. Depois do ato, alguns programas policiais na TV Brasileira começaram a cobrir o caso de maneira exagerada. Diante disso, este artigo buscou analisar a cobertura do caso Lázaro Barbosa pelo programa Brasil Urgente da TV Bandeirantes destacando as estratégias com o viés sensacionalista. Entre os objetivos específicos está descrever como o programa manteve no ar a suposta perseguição; identificar traços de sensacionalismo na cobertura jornalística e discutir a novelização do conteúdo jornalístico durante a cobertura do caso. Constata-se que houve novelização do caso durante a cobertura da perseguição a Lázaro Barbosa e que o programa Brasil Urgente foi sensacionalista ao tratar do assunto, com falas moralistas proferidas pelo apresentador e comparações sádicas.
