Resumo: The main objectives of this work were to study the dominant height growth in relation to age for Pinus taeda L., in the region of Cambará do Sul, RS, as well as to obtain a set of site index curves for the specie and region. Richard´s mathematics model   was  tested, originated from data about age and dominant height of 31 trees obtained from trunk analysis proceeding from populations of Pinus taeda L., growing in the property of the Company Celulose Cambará S.A. As results, a set of the nine index curves of the site werw produced, respectively, for the site index from 8 to 32, with a reference age of 20 years with index between intervals of 3 metre.

Os objetivos principais deste trabalho foram: estudar o crescimento da altura dominante em função da idade para  Pinus taeda L. da região de  Cambará do Sul, RS; bem como elaborar um conjunto de curvas de índice de sítio para a espécie e região. Para tanto, foi testado o modelo matemático de Richards, com dois e três coeficientes, tendo como  pares de dados a idade e altura dominante, obtidas de 31 árvores oriundas de análise de tronco provenientes de três sítios naturais reflorestados com Pinus taeda L. de propriedade da empresa Celulose Cambará S.A.
