Resumo: Aiming to verify the reproductive potential of the twig girdlers, Oncideres impluviata (Germar, 1824) on the angico tree, Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.)(Leguminosae) and O. captiosa Martins, 1981, on the camphor tree, Cinnamomun camphora Ness et Ebern (Lauraceae) during the period 1986/88 the number of posture incisions were counted on 20 cm seccions in cutted branches taking notes on the number of developed larvae and emerged adults. It was observed that O. impluviata cutted branches of larger diameter and girdles greater number of branches in isolated trees compared to the ones  inside  a  grove. More  adults  emerged  from branches cutted inside than outside the grove. The average number of posture incisions by O. captiosa was greater than O. impluviata, however the average number of developed larvae was about 50% less in O. captiosa than in O. impluviata.

Procurando verificar o potencial, reprodutivo dos serradores, Oncideres impluviata (Germar, 1824) sobre angico: Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.)(Leguminosae) e O. captiosa Martins, 1981 sobre canforeira: Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Nees et Ebern (Lauraceae) no período 1986/88, contou-se o número de incisões de posturas, por secção de 20 cm, por galho cortado, anotando-se o número de larvas desenvolvidas e adultos emergidos. O diâmetro dos galhos cortados foi medido a cada 20 cm, desde a base até o ápice. Verificou-se que O. impluviata corta galhos de maior diâmetro e realiza maior número de incisões em galhos de árvores isoladas em relação àquelas de dentro da mata. Emergem mais adultos dos galhos cortados dentro da mata do que naqueles de árvores isoladas.
