Resumo: The microscopic description of the wood of Mimosa sparsa Benth. is realised, based on 30 quantitative features of its anatomical structure. The description is illustrated with photomicrographs, from all the three anatomical sections. The structure observed is compared with literature references, in a taxonomic and phylogenetic analysis.
