Resumo: This study aims to analyze the influence of satisfaction on the commitment of generation Y teachers who work in the municipal schools of Curitiba/PR. It is a quantitative, exploratory and descriptive research using the Job Satisfaction Scale (Siqueira, 2008), and the organizational commitment variables by Meyer and Allen (1991). The respondents were teachers with a maximum of 5 years of activity in the municipal education system in Curitiba/PR and up to 30 years of age, belonging to Generation Y. The data were treated using statistical methods such as measures of central tendency, graph of variability and linear regression model. The results reveal that the dimensions of satisfaction with leadership and promotions/career growth are those that impact commitment.Key-words: public management, education, satisfaction, commitment, generation Y.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa, exploratória e descritiva utilizando-se a Escala de Satisfação no Trabalho (Siqueira, 2008), e das variáveis de comprometimento organizacional de Meyer e Allen (1991). Participaram da pesquisa os profissionais do magistério com até cinco anos de carreira e trinta anos de idade vinculados à rede municipal. Os dados foram tratados por meio de métodos estatísticos como medidas de tendência central, gráfico de variabilidade e modelo de regressão linear.
