Resumo: | The present work has two objectives: to update the panorama of the forms of provision of the school director and comparative analysis of educational and context indicators in groups categorized by the director's appointment, only by election, indication or mixed forms, with delimitation to schools that only offer the initial years of elementary education in 2015. Through a quantitative approach, a comparative exploratory analysis and the dialogue with the literature. The results showed greater homogeneity and a difference of 5% to 20% in the means of the indicators used in the analysis - Ideb, IDHM, ICQ - and proficiencies in Portuguese and Mathematics of the years 2015, exception to the HDI, of 2010, in favor of the group of elected directors' municipal networks.Key-words: form of provision; educational indicators; democratic management. |

Pela abordagem quantitativa, utilizou-se uma análise exploratória comparativa e o diálogo com a literatura.
