Production Engineering, in the last years, has gained importance in relation to other professions and the number of candidates seeking this profession has grown. This can be attributed to the certainly eclectic quality of this profession, since it sums various types of knowledge, capacities and abilities, empowering its professional to work in different economical sectors and securely actuate in many activities, permitting the professional to work with booth engineering and administration areas. Among the ideal markets in which the Production Engineer can work is the farming industry, although it doesn’t yet offer as many opportunities as desired to Production Engineer graduates and these professionals aren’t yet aware of this possible market, considering the market needs the knowledge and it is competent. This study’s aim was to prove that the alliance between Gaúcho farming industry and Production Engineering is beneficial and appropriate to both entities, the former offering abundant work opportunities to engineers and the profession conveying qualified professionals and development to Gaúcho farming industry.
