The study aimed to characterize the acoustic isolation of a ceramic blocks masonry wall performance. An experimental research was adopted, through a detailed establishment of the constituents and further analysis of the Sound Reduction Index. The identification of specific bibliographic data to the theoretical prediction of the structural masonry acoustic isolation was difficult to find. The experimental results demonstrated, besides the acoustic performance of the ceramic blocks masonry wall, the position of the coincidence frequency and the acoustic bridges formation importance, resulted from a slight covering layer added to the wall within elastic connection. The wall s covering layer importance to the acoustic isolation performance in the emission room was also attested. This study comes up with experimental data; being itself an important source to projectors of this constructive system.
