Preparação para a OBMEP: relato de experiência e análise dos resultados

Resumo: This work presents the report of experience and analysis of results concerning the preparation for the Brazilian State Schools Mathematics Olympiad (OBMEP) on the education of junior high school students. It consists of a pilot project carried out in a Federal State School in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Fifty-one students from the eighth and ninth grades of junior high school answered well-elaborated math problems, which, to be solved, demanded considerable knowledge of related topics. Field work took place from March to the end of July 2018, totaling thirty-three periods held on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Activities were planned and carried out based on the Scienti c Initiation Program (PIC), on the Intensive Training Olympiad Center (POTI) as well as on tests of previous years (available on OBMEP site). It was also based on the guidance visit to the OBMEP Regional Center, managed by the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). It should be emphasized that the script and organization of the activities can be applied in other classes or adapted to other realities, however they are not unpublished issues, but are extracted from the PIC, the POTI and the books of the collection of the Professional Master's Degree in Mathematics in National Network. Following the test taken during the rst phase of the Olympiad, statistics dispersion measures were applied in order to discuss quantitative results of the research. To model a qualitative work pro le, students answered questionnaires at the end of each study module.

Foi desenvolvido um projeto em uma escola pública federal em Santa Maria, RS, com a participação de cinquenta e um alunos do 8o e 9o anos do Ensino Fundamental, em que problemas bem elaborados, que exigem conhecimento aprofundado dos tópicos estudados, foram abordados no presente instrumento. O trabalho de campo começou no ínicio de março e estendeu-se até o nal de julho, com encontros ora quinzenais, ora semanais, num total de trinta e três tempos de aula. O planejamento e execução das atividades basearam-se no Programa de Inciação Cientí ca (PIC), no Polo Olímpico de Treinamento Intensivo (POTI) e provas de anos anteriores (disponíveis no site da OBMEP) e na visita de orientação do Polo Regional da OBMEP, gestado pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Cabe ressaltar que o roteiro e organização das atividades podem ser aplicadas em outras turmas, ou adaptadas para outras realidades, entretanto não são questões inéditas, mas sim extraídas do PIC, do POTI e dos livros da coletânea do Mestrado Pro ssionalizante em Matemática em Rede Nacional (PROFMAT). Após a realização da prova da primeira fase, medidas de dispersão estatística foram aplicadas para discutir os resultados quantitativos da pesquisa.
