Resumo: | The object of study in this research was to investigate. The knowledge and the relations that the Chil Education and Beginning years of the Elementary School, of the School municipality of Santa Maria – RS, establish around the use of the voice as a mediator instrument of its relations and pedagogical practice. This research was carried out with one hundred and three teachers that answered the Protocol about the Teacher’s Professional Voice (Attachment A), containing objective and descriptive questions. The features of the working environment and the voices of these teachers were investigated, aiming at learning the uses and cares dispensed by them to their voices in the exercise of the teaching profession. A quantityqualitative research methodology was used, from which was proposed the interpreting analysis of the data that were collected and organized under the form of graphs and tables, searching the deepening of the discussion through the verify that the teachers of this study conceive and use the voice as one of the main understand that there is a strong relation between the exercises of the teacher profession and the appearing of vocal alterations as a consequence of this activity. These same teachers do not notice the relation between its pedagogical practice, its teaching forms and the intensive use that make the voice in its daily professional basis. |

These same teachers do not notice the relation between its pedagogical practice, its teaching forms and the intensive use that make the voice in its daily professional basis.O objeto de estudo desta pesquisa foi investigar os conhecimentos e as relações que os professores de Educação Infantil e Anos Iniciais do EF, da rede Municipal de Ensino de Santa Maria/RS, estabelecem acerca do uso da voz enquanto instrumento mediador das suas relações e práticas pedagógicas. Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida com cento e três professores que responderam ao Protocolo sobre a Voz Profissional dos Professores (Anexo A), contendo questões objetivas e descritivas. Foram investigadas as características do ambiente de trabalho e da voz desses professores, procurando-se conhecer os usos e cuidados dispensados por eles à sua voz no exercício da profissão de professor. Utilizou-se metodologia de pesquisa quanti-qualitativa, a partir da qual se propôs a análise interpretativa dos dados que foram coletados e organizados sob a forma de gráficos e tabelas, buscando-se o aprofundamento da discussão através do estabelecimento de categorias de análise iniciais e finais. Dessa maneira, pôde-se verificar que os professores deste estudo concebem e utilizam a voz como um dos principais instrumentos de mediação dos processos de ensino e de aprendizagem em sala de aula e entendem que existe uma forte relação entre o exercício da profissão de professor e o surgimento de alterações vocais como decorrência desta atividade.
