The “House health team” is a punit linked to the SUS that takes care of people living in the student’s housing at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), a territory that covers a population of around 2000 individuals. The objective was to record the experience of professionals working in Primary Health Care (PHC) within a specific territory. The aim was to understand, in the context of experience, the theories and methods that produced the unique characteristics of this organization, difficulties encountered and tools used. This is a single case study with analysis guided by thematic analysis: a qualitative research that used focus groups as its main strategies.The analysis sought to find the contradiction, the potentialities and limitations of the theoretical and methodological options that resulted in the way health care was organized for this population. It was carried out with the support of software ATLAS.ti for contente analysis. As main results, the study highlights seven themes: difficulties brought by students, tools used by the team, the team's relationship with the municipality's care network and the role of the institution in the health of residents. Such discussions highlighted how mental health problems end up influencing different academic and personal aspects of students and the need for a integral vision of health to best meet their demands.
