Resumo: Cooperation between input suppliers and contractors makes it indispensable to achieve greater difficulty and reduce processes, consequently, achieving the best results. The present study is inserted in the context of lean thinking, applied to a specific part of the supply chain: a relationship between suppliers and contractors, and the extent to which this relationship affects the best results. Based on the elucidated assumptions, the present study aims to measure the existing cooperation between a cold agro-industrial cooperative and its input suppliers. To achieve the expected results, a structured methodology was followed, starting by measuring the costs incurred due to non-conformities in the various types of inputs. Then, a questionnaire was applied with questions used as indicators (KPIs), which guided the critical success factors (FCS). Then, the AHP method was used to generate a cooperation index for each supplier. Finally, the cooperation index and the quantity of disposal of each supplier was compared. In this context, no relationship was identified between the cooperation index and discards as it was perceived that the types and variations of inputs influence the analysis. In general, the agro-industrial cooperative obtained good levels of cooperation with its suppliers, about 77.8% of which were considered fully or potentially cooperative. It was found that the suppliers that obtained better results in the FCS Risk Sharing Contract, and especially Information Sharing, had better performance in the cooperation index. It was also identified that the percentage of discards is not directly related to the cooperation index when comparing inputs from different segments. The high demand for meat on the part of China, due to a specific event that was the swine fever that occurred in this country in 2018, negatively affected the cooperation between suppliers and the cooperative. This fact implied variations in production directions, and in this context, suppliers that advance inputs start to bear losses due to changes in the cooperative's production mix. At the end of the study, through the identification of the main factors related to cooperation, it is possible to increase the cooperation rate of suppliers so that waste is reduced and, consequently, the costs inherent to this waste are reduced. Modeling offers support so that managers are able to monitor the levels of interaction with suppliers, mainly seeking to reduce waste.
