Resumo: The stink bug species Euschistus heros can be controlled by entomopathogenic fungi. However, few researches have been done on the biological control of this species and there is only bio-insecticide available in the market. Therefore, the objective of this work was to isolate and select entomopathogenic fungi and determine the concentration of conidia necessary to control E. heros bug in laboratory conditions. Fungi were isolated from soil samples and from diseased insects. The selection was done by inoculating 5μL of a suspension of 1x108 conidia mL-1 on the back of adult stink bugs and evaluating mortality for 15 days. The three fungi selected were identified by molecular biology techniques and belong to the Beauveria bassiana species. UFSM-1, UFSM-2 and UFSM-26 were selected from 36 isolates for causing 100% mortality in adults of the brown bug, which were tested in bioassays for determination of LC50 and CL90 and accumulated mortality. The fungi UFSM-1 and UFSM-2 got distinguished by the high virulence and rapid lethality in E. heros, because in 9 days, 90% of the stink bugs were killed with the application of 5x109 conidia mL-1 (CL90). For the fungus UFSM-26, the CL90 was 8x1010 conidia mL-1. With the application of 1x108 conidia mL-1, UFSM-1 and UFSM-2 isolates killed 70% of the stink bugs in 9 days, while UFSM-26 killed 12%. The isolates UFSM-1 and UFSM-2 are promising biological control agents of Euschistus heros and therefore will be evaluated in future studies.

Porém, poucas pesquisas foram realizadas sobre o controle biológico desta espécie e há somente um bioinseticida disponível no mercado. Por isto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi isolar e selecionar fungos entomopatogênicos e determinar a concentração de conídios necessária para o controle do percevejo E. heros em condições de laboratório. Foram isolados fungos de amostras de solo e de insetos doentes, o que correspondeu a 36 fungos isolados. A seleção foi realizada pela inoculação de 5μL de uma suspensão de 1x108 conídios mL-1 no dorso dos percevejos adultos e avaliada a mortalidade por 15 dias. Os três fungos selecionados foram identificados por técnicas de biologia molecular e pertencem a espécie Beauveria bassiana. Dos 36 fungos isolados, foram selecionados o UFSM-1, UFSM-2 e UFSM-26 por causar 100% de mortalidade em adultos do percevejo-marrom, no qual foram testados em bioensaios para determinação da CL50 e CL90 e da mortalidade acumulada. Os fungos UFSM-1 e UFSM-2 destacaram-se pela alta virulência e rápida letalidade em E. heros, pois em 9 dias, 90% dos percevejos foram mortos com a aplicação de 5x109 conídios mL-1 (CL90). Para o fungo UFSM-26, a CL90 foi de 8x1010 conídios mL-1. Com a aplicação de 1x108 conídios mL-1, os isolados UFSM-1 e UFSM-2 mataram 70% dos percevejos em 9 dias, enquanto o UFSM-26 matou 12%. Os isolados UFSM-1 e UFSM-2 são promissores agentes de controle biológico do Euschistus heros e por isto serão avaliados em futuros estudos.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência do SoloUFSMBrasilAgronomiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFungos entomopatogênicosBeauveria bassianaControle biológicoEuschistus herosEntomopathogenic fungiBeauveria bassianaBiological controlEuschistus herosCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::AGRONOMIAIsolamento e seleção de fungos para o controle do percevejo-marromIsolation and selection of fungi for the control of the brown stink buginfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisJacques, Rodrigo Josemar Seminotihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7125174529787074Bellé, Cristianohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2321906567226614Guedes, Jerson Carushttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0846418627719511http://lattes.cnpq.br/1152764858330755Dalla Nora, Daiane500100000009600d08ea39d-f039-4bf8-8abb-77396310decb5c3e400b-e114-410d-9bc5-b286af18aa7158cb05b2-2e76-44e3-b3cf-1d90ac0a2dcc2cafa66d-02cd-4c04-9655-cab4af453184reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGCS_2019_DALLA_NORA_DAIANE.pdfDIS_PPGCS_2019_DALLA_NORA_DAIANE.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf1446458http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/19613/1/DIS_PPGCS_2019_DALLA_NORA_DAIANE.pdf2b380216303739305368d71cdbb81e76MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
